No compatible card found?
Hello, I'm hoping somebody can help me. I've been having a bit of a nightmare with my Creative Audigy card. I'm assuming this is an OEM card and as far as I can ascertain it is the basic Audigy model (what it says on the card and in Device Manager). The card says it is a creative audigy and has a creative chip on it. I'm am running it under Windows XP SP2.
The card was working OK until I happened to unplug the harddrive while moving it to a new slot as part of uprading my graphics card. The long and the short of it is that the card is recognised by Windows in the Device Manager but is not found in Creativ autoupdate (which starts coming up with scrpt error messages) or if I try to download and install the "latest" Creative drivers. That leves me with the original 2005 drivers on the disk that it came with which seem less than ideal. Having restored to get back to the previous drivers (March 06) I now have a somewhat dysfunctional installation (not all speaker channels working in 4.1) which I have been struggling to sort out. That lead me here. Unfortunately I am running into a similar problem. Having downloaded the latest kX drivers I am getting an error message when I try to install the drivers, saying that there is no compatible card present. At which point the process terminates. Do I have an incompatible version of the Audigy card, and if so, how would I know? Is there some other issue? Any guidance would be very much appreciated. |

I suspect your card is not compatible with kX |

Sounds like you have to reformat and reinstall Windows. Sorry.
