skipping when recording from line
Hello. I have problem with something in my computer. When i'm recording from LineIn (sound goes out from SbLive to analog mixer and returns to LineIn for record) sometimes sounds in wav is skipping. I tried to disable all 'tray' programs and everything that wasn't nessecary. It skipped only two times in 36minutes but.. still skips. I have connected 10band eq and dynamics processor through mixer and winMM recording but i don't think this should be the problem.. i tried to save the wav to the other disk but it was worse that normal. I have cpu duron 1800 mhz, 512mb ram, asus a7n8x as mobo, psu of fortron 350w and samsung 250gb disk. At playback i use 16outputs of ASIO at 48khz, latency 16.00ms (NO any underruns on 'live playback', only in recorded wav file), sync set to user/timer. Maybe i should change record buffer size to bigger? anyone can give me a clue?
I have sample of those underruns, you can download it here: undr.mp3 FileFactory.com - free file hosting Thanks in advance. |

So... what is your recording application? This doesn´t sound like a hardware (soundcard) problem, the skips are too smooth. Soundcard problems are sounding like crackles and metallic artefacts. Is your HD fast enough / DMA activated?
