No recording t all !!!
I'm using an Audigy 2ZS on Win XP SP2 with the KX drivers 3537 where the word "Debug" is labelled bside it.
When I look at the KX mixer, there is big red dot beside the speaker icon and when I click on it to see the recording facilities of tne mixer, there are red dots all over the place beside everything... I don't know if I'm wrong or not but these red dots are indicating to me that none of these signals is available for recording, wrong or right? Besides, when I check Windows audio properties, nothing is available when I select Recording because all I can see is a grayed "wave in" input device with a totally empty window below it and when I select other, the only available device is "Recoding level" which is selected. Of course, I made sure to have SPDIF selected to OFF in the master view of the mixer not to disable all other recording possibility, however, it changed nothing at all. I remember that when I began to use the KX drivers, that I didn't had this problem but I don't remember what was the version of the drivers at that time. Since then, I reinstalled WinXP from scratch as well as the KX drivers, to no avail... Nothing i tried has solved this problem... I recently downloaded a trial version of a 31 band audio equalizer that I would like to use but I haven't been able to make it work until now given that it apparently can't receive any signal. So can somebody help me solve this problem and/or suggest drivers other than 3537 (debug) which would solve this problem. Thanks in advance. Last edited by cverrcv; Jan 31, 2008 at 04:05 AM. |

The red dots do not indicate anything except that those items are related to recording...
In order for us to be able to help, you need to tell us specifically what you are trying to record (and if it is an external source, how it is connected to the card), and what DSP config you are using. |

Tho - I thought Russ had figured that out, but he either missed what I quoted - or I am mistaken in my recollections...?? but something seems wrong with the driver install if you cant select kX Wave X/X or kX Wave HQ as default recording device... ??? Sorry Im not much more help for you - other than maybe try a newer version of kX (I am using 3538M with an A2ZS and is working for me... |

Hi Russ,
As mentionned, I'm not trying to record anything special. I'm just trying to use AnwidaSoft Graphic Equalizer Pro application. I finally could make work now, by the way...lolll According to you, the red dots are just there to show that these faders are recording signals. That's what I suspected but it doesn't explain why Windows Audio properties shows absolutely nothing but an empty window when I select "Recoding"... |

@Maddogg6
I am thinking that he is referring to the Windows Mixer there, and not the selection boxes in the Windows CP. |

Can you be more specific as to what you mean by the above? i.e. Do you mean the Windows Mixer? kX does not use the Windows Mixer in the typical way, so you will not see the typical options for recording (use kxmixer instead).

Typically you have Wave In with one slider (maybe slightly different in different kX versions). In any case, it sounds like you did get it working, right? or is there something else? |

yes, I didn't get it working at first, but I finally could make it work, so, no there's nothing else.
Thanks again for your help guys, I never thought that it would be so fast and I must admit that I'm totally amazed of the quickness of the help that we receive here, really. Keep doing your great job
