KX Mixer, Do I need a degree in Audio to understand it?

I recently purchased an Live 5.1 digital (SB0200) card (used of course) to replace my ancient Creative AWE64 ISA card, all this due to the fact that my new motherboard does not host ISA cards. Any way, it's been a bitch tryng to find a driver for this card until I came across KX project. I thought it was just the driver and the mixer for windows XP SP2, but no, it is a nightmare of difficulty only apt for MIT graduets. The old AWE64 came with a utility called AWECT32 that allowed the user to load soundfonts, test them with a virtual piano, tweak the timbre, fiddle with the revervs and choruses, all in one easy to use app. Then in CAKEWALK I would simply pick and use the patches of the soundfonts in every track property. What could be easier than that? But now I have to manualy route effects, soundfonts, select devices, mute others, Oh men, what a pain.
Is there an application similar to AWECT64 out there?

I totally messed up by adding this thread. Two weeks have gone by since I posted it and I already regret it. After reading a tutorial "Quick DSP Guide for musicians (using ProFX only) by Lex Nahumury" it all came into focus for me and took full grasp of what KX project is. I have nothing but words of praise for the project's inventor (s) and think that it's the best that happened to PC audio since MIDI was implemented for the same.
When I first got it working but didn't understand it I repeated to myself the old adage: "Don't look at a gift horse in the mouth", yeah, this is no ordinary horse, it is a fine thorough bred arab stallion.
Thanks a million Mr Eugene Gavrilov.

Well, no harm done, and yes, kX learning curve can be pretty steep to some.
Anyway; Have fun!
