spdif popup

hey folks.. let me begin by saying many thanks to everyone working on this project, they've really brought my poor old audigy ex back to life!

i have a simple question, basically over the last few days of using these drivers i've noticed a small popup in the bottom corner over the system tray.. something like '--> 10101010 SPDIF' i'm not sure why this is occuring.. i'm burning some dvds as i speak and it seems to be popping up even more so than usual. possibly related to the dvd spdif connection? also once or twice there has been a similiar popup with a headphones icon and a question mark. can anyone shed some light on this? sry if this question has already been answered elsewhere..cheers

You can disable the spdif / speaker-messages by right-clicking on kXtray->settings->osd-messages->uncheck unwanted content.

thanks, i actually found that earlier today i was just wondering what it actually meant if anything. the headphones icon i realised, was mainly because i had left my earphones plugged in after booting up the comp but ive no idea whats going on with the spdif!

Hmm,

I get the SPDIF icon popping up because I have a valid SPDIF connection between 2 kX cards, SPDIF out to SPDIF in.

If you have an external bay hooked up to a Live or Audigy card, I think that would cause the icon to pop up.

The CD-SPDIF input is highly sensitive to noise, so if your computer has a lot to do or a module on the mobo draws temporary a lot of power, the card may recognize a data stream and the SPDIF icon may pop up. Simply ignore it or switch the message off
