Platinum Pro
I friend made this comment:"I really wish Kx would fix the Line In 3 on the Platinum Pro, because I'd like to switch to the Kx drivers, just to see how they work."
Anyone know the status of this? Thanks |

Hi, I'm Gary, and I'm the guy Silvertones spoke of. It is an Audigy2 Platinum Pro, I have two of them, a standard Audigy 2, and a Audigy2ZS Notebook.
I've heard about Kx for a few years now, but have never investigated it. I took a look at some of the stuff, and my head went round and round in circles! I get a feeling that I'm going to feel a lot like Alice once she fell down the rabbit hole. I think that most of this was precipitated by this last weekend, and I've will not buy or recommend Creative products in the future, but for what I have now, I would like to get the most out of them. I have very Pro level A/D and D/A converters externally, which my stuff runs through, and I have a M-Audio 2496 for the S/PDIF I/O on that unit only, I won't use the converters there. I am told that the Creative does SRC on everything to 48kHz, including 48kHz signals. I don't want that, I want to be able to put either optical or coaxial into the DSP and get out of the DSP what sample rate I put in. I suspect I have a lot of learning to do. For now, maybe not having the Line IN doesn't matter, but I would like to see it. I'll take any suggestions you can offer. Regards, Gary |

no matter what you do, the DSP on the audigy chips WILL resample all audio that goes into it, so if you don't want that, get a semi-pro/pro soudncard

The question is: will you notice the resampling thing with your ears?! If not, where is the problem? I do audio-productions for years, all with Audigy and Audigy2 cards and the quality is absolutely fine - I think. The kX-driver will help you to get the most out of your cards - itīs flexible and expandable in an incomparable way
