IE wont' display colors and fonts correct?

I have IE 7 and when i'm online The colors are all wrong, the fonts are sometimes wrong and words some times overlap. Also sometimes the linKs can't even be seen. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000. (I know), And I don't have the windows xp cd anymore (lost it). Is there anything else I can do? I have the same problem with firefox also.

just downloaded the opera browser and now everything looks fine. Is this just an ie problem?

It's possible that Opera uses different fonts to display pages that does not have a set font type. But if it wouldn't prove to be a problem related to damaged font files then try updating the graphics driver just in case.
