How to get sound from Hauppage WinTV
Hi!
I'm using a SB Live SB0102 with the 3541 drivers. I have connected the output from my Hauppage WinTV to the line in on my sound card, but no sound can be heard. I have tried fiddling with various settings in the kX control panel to no effect. I have my system set up so I can record in Cubase SX3 via AC97 and everything else is working fine. But I just can't seem to get any sound from my WinTV. Any suggestions? edit: I forgot to mention that if I change back to the WinXP supplied SB Live drivers I can hear the sound from the WinTV fed through line in. Thanks, Martin |

With the default DSP config:
Unmute the AC97 In slider on the Ins and Outs page of kxmixer and set the volume to 0 dB. Select Line in as the AC97 source on the AC97 page of kxmixer. If you want to be able to control the volume from within WinTV, see the following: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/effects-...e-command.html |

Thanks for the reply. This is exactly what I tried myself though, and nothing happens.
The DSP config now has been reset to the default, but same scenario. I have even tried using the MIC input instead of LINE IN, but same result: no sound. The minute I roll back to standard Windows drivers, whatever sound I feed through the line in can be heard through my speakers which are connected to the rear output and I have swapped front/rear. Hmm... |

Are you connected to Line In on the rear of the card?
Make sure that the GAIN slider on the AC97 page of kxmixer is not muted (it can be set to zero, but it should not be muted). Connect a peak plugin to the top two pins of prolog and see if you you can see the signal from Line In. |

I use the ADC dsp from ProFx to get the sound from LineIn for my Winfast card.
Can't seem to get sound from the SRC dsp.

Download Lex's ProFX from here:
ProFx Version 3.x I believe the download titled: ProFx v3.08 for all 3538 kX driver versions! will work for kX version 3541. Lex wrote a guide here on how to use the DSP: Quick kX DSP Guide (by Lex Nahumury) There have been changes in ProFX since Lex made the above page. Input options that used to be found entirely in the SRC plugin are divided up between the SRC and ADC plugins. These pages should give you a good basic understanding of the DSP. |
