rear/front as separate channels? (me noob)
intro (feel free to skip):
first of i'd like to express my satisfaction with the kx drivers. i was very unhappy with the noise level that came through the green output plug of my just a week old sblive 5.1 card. and today suddenly my pc slowed down as if it was hit by a hammer so i realized a process calles cthelper.exe was eating up all my cpu time. that was the moment i googled and found kx. now that i know a little about my soundcard (thanks to the kx help and not creative!) everything's fine and the swap front/rear feature allows me to listen to crystal clear sound with my expensive headphones =) it's all relative of couse - but 'im happy, so don't bash... question: i read the basic guide to kx and it had this one provoking idea, BUT - how do i get separate audio feeds into the rear and front channels and how do i control the respective mixers? i've been playing around with kx's menus and searching the forum etc but to no avail. the best i've tried out so far was the speaker setup menu and there the 4.1 setup and playing around with VRearA. but i really like to have the channels as separate as possible, like 2 devices (all the 0/1, 4/5, 6/7 and 8/9 have the same mixer at the moment). i know about kx's routing and dsp system, but it's a little complicated at the first look. |

in the 'surrounder' plugin set '5.1 Direct Path' mode
you will get 3 independent stereo devices: 4/5, 6/7, 8/9 /Eugene |

thanks a lot! i really appreciate that the project leader took the time to answer to my little question =)
i finally have a setup where i dont have to plug or unplug any cables and dont have to change volume levels etc when i want to listen to winamp on my stereo instead of headphones. i just created a new winamp dir which uses this separate channel. kx made my day (and surely a lot of days to come ;) |
