3542 - kx mixer
In new version (3542) I don't see half of sound input & output sliders (also master volume slider is missing). In all versions before it worked fine.
OS: XP SP3 SB Live! 5.1 platinum thanks in advance ! |

Rename epilog_old to epilog, or unload epilog_old and load epilog (EpilogX) instead.

sorry for asking dummy questions... you mean recompiling it with other version of epilog.cpp or there's another way ?

No, just open the DSP window, right click on epilog_old and choose Rename from the menu, and change it to epilog (or just unload it, and load epilog instead, and redo the connections).
The kX skin uses the plugin name for slider placement, etc, and is looking for the name epilog. (I am guessing that E. forgot to update the default DSP config to use the new version of epilog). |

oops, I missed that - will fix in the next release
although I guess most 10k1 users should keep using 3541, since further development will mostly be related to E-DSP and 10k2 features not yet implemented E. |

>why..?
because, there're no 10k1 features not-implemented (not mentioning those feeatures that were gave-up long ago like "ac3 pass-through") (e.g. compare to "to E-DSP and 10k2 features not yet implemented") >unfortunately, its bad news for most 10k1 users using kx audio driver.. Doh! What exactly is bad? Well, as joke: What i can never understand is that why many people think kX will last forever. It won't. Finally, kX was finished in 2002 - when all the features planned were implemented. That's it. Anything beyond were just a little improvements here and there (where and when it was not too difficult and not too boring to implement). Huh, i'll first shoot E. if he sais he's going to support "Windows 2015".. Doh, man, you have only 1 (one!) life to waste it for the same old stuff (bringing more consumers to Creative) p.s. and by the way (sorry for continious editing of my posts) - All that is actually does not mean that newer kX versions won't support Lives at all. This only means that some of the newer versions may break Live! compatibility (like 3542 does) - as taking less care of compatibility can vastly decrease the development time - but as soon as these new "E-DSP and 10k2 features" becomes less or more finished and stable - the proper Live! support is back

You won't have to. The last Windows will be 2012, according to the Mayan calendar. (Compare Surviving Ancient Doomsday, Pole Shifts and Evolution.) ![]() Quote:
Hasn't the stuff changed though? Now you can only get the compatible cards second-hand (with the exception of some E-mus now, right?). It becames an act of anti-corporatist resistance. ![]() Secondly, some minor maintenance is often different from developing the whole thing, but still can make a big difference, if it means the software works in a new OS, for example. Having said that, it doesn't seem to me that huge a problem for, for example, Win 2k users to stay with 3538m, which is a very good release ![]() Cheers Last edited by octave; Jul 6, 2008 at 02:42 PM.
