kxproject drivers and gaming
hey guys,
i'm thinking of using the kxproject driver on my pc. The reason i'm doubting is cause my sound atm is pretty good. Question i had about the kxproject driver is, if its good for gaming. I game pretty high level, and i was looking for a driver, or a program where i can alter my sound for better gaming. Like a program where you can take certain sounds and crank up the volume of those sounds, but also like take other sounds and not make them do any noise at all. So is it possible with kxproject divers to alter your output sound so you can only hear the sounds you want while gaming (think about leaving out background noises and stuff). And, cause i also use my pc to watch movies and listen music, to make like profiles where i can make 1 for gaming, and 1 with normal sound for music/movies. thanks in advance! |

This is possible with kX, but it supports no eax and you have to fiddle a bit with the different settings and plugins to get what you want. kX is mainly intended for musicians and it ca also meet your desires. You can give it a try - if it it nothing for you, simply uninstall it. Please be sure that you remove all origial driver stuff before installing kX.

I have Audigy2ZS and i play Counter Strike Source, i have also 5.1 headphones, I created this DSP for playing CSS with 5.1 headphones:
http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/4569/kxbm1.jpg DSP is simple, sound from rear has less bass and is little louder to know better when someone is behind You, because even when You are using 5.1 headphones, speakers are very close to Your ears and sometimes You do not know from where You heard something, Dynamics Processor is for noise reduction. I use this dsp only for gaming, it is good for FPS shooters when You have 5.1 |

hey pkozerski!
well i have a SennHeiser PC160, dont know if thats a 5.1 headphone, but i guess so. I never played CSS but you are heading towards what i need ![]() At the moment i allready tweaked my sound a bit, using the mixer provided by creative. But on the screenshots of kxprojects i saw you can use 10 sliders instead of 7 that i have now. About the DSP, i got no idea how to build one, but you can change DSP when you want? (for movies/gaming/ect.) Oh and i have an Audigy 4, so i hope this is all supported. Now if someone could explain me a little bit how this DSP works, and what i exactly need to filter out certain sounds, and frequences i would be greatfull ![]() the one thing holding me back of using kxproject is that the sound i have now is pretty owkej, but lets say i cant figure out how kxproject works, and i wanna go back, that would kinda make me lose my sound as i have it now. |

You should be able to use kX with your Audigy 4. Also, go here to download kX DSP setups. Some are particularly for gaming: kX Project Preset Exchange System
