Hello All,
I am using Gigastudio 160 and Sonar 2.2. I have loaded the latest KX Driver update 3533rc2. I can see the signal input when I play a note in Gigastudio, but I don't get any sound (No Output). My OS is Windows ME, Soundcard SB Live 5.1 Any Ideas?????? Thanks in advance DK-1 |

3533rc2 is not the latest drivers. Try updating to the 3535 stable release and see if that helps

this question [GigaStudio 160] was discussed too many times already pls search the forum ![]() (a hint: you need to update GigaStudio, not the kX Driver )/E |

Hi Eugene,
I searched on this forum for quite a while searching for an answer. I tried three different versions of Gigastudio (2.50, 2.51 and 2.53). I tried many different modes and volume sliders in the KX-mixer. I really can't get it to work ![]() Is it supposed to work under Win98SE and GS 2.53 or do I need 2.54 !? (I read on the Nemesys page they changed the GSIF interface in 2.53, but not again in 2.54...) I understand you're very busy with all this work, but please help us with this issue! I haven't noticed you were talking about Win98SE/ME I've never tested kX GSIF driver under these OSes -- so, I'm unsure if they are supported you can use Creative VxD drivers and the native GSIF support instead /E |

It seems more people have problems using KX, GS and Win98SE together. I would like to help to solve this problem as I really don't want to go back to the Creative drivers !!! (BTW, I am a C++ developer) Besides, the latency of the creative GSIF driver is too high, it's only supported through directaudio.
I think the sound quality and functionality is much better with your drivers. Regrettably, some driver issues are bugging me... Do you have any hypothesis where the sound is going to in GS now !? I have no idea how the GSIF interface is implemented. At least, gigastudio is able to detect the GSIF driver. Is the problem the communication of GS with the GSIF KX interface or is the problem in the communication of the GSIF KX interface with the KX sound buffers !? Greetings, Fedde |

I just tried GS 2.54. Same problem, no sound! Where does the GSIF output go to ? Just to the wave out? Or is it possible that I use a wrong mixer setting/DSP layout ? I use SP/DIF output, maybe the GSIF signal doesn't go to SP/DIF !? Are there any settings I have to change in Gigasampler. I see that there are four stereo outputs in GS (1-2 till 7-8), do they all work?
I hope that you want to help me/us with this issue!!! I'd be willing to run some testing DLL's/drivers to locate the source of the error... I think that the issue is solveable... Ciao, Fedde |

This is returned by the GS diagnostic function. Is the "did NOT map" a bad sign

the GSIF specification assumes there are two main kind of drivers: WDM & VxD
we support GSIF/WDM specification since our driver is WDM-based it is currently unclear whether GSIF/WDM is available under Win98SE I suggest you try to contact Nemesys/Giga in order to answer this question... /E |

KX Drivers Gigastudio 160
I was told by someone on this forum that Gigastudio 160 is only compatible with Windows Xp. I had to upgrade from Windows ME to XP to get Giga to work. Had same problem: No sound.

Only XP???
Strange! I am running WinME with Gigastudio 160 2.54 and it works just fine! I have 2 soundcards 1. A C-MEDIA sound card (which sucks) and 2. and SB Live! Card. Gigastudio works with the other soundcard but the quality is awful (not aweful) HEHEHEHE. Since SB Live! had no GSIF support and no sound came out... I upgraded to Kx Project. BTW... Im an expert on computers. I also get the same problem with no sound. Maybe this just relates to this particular type of soundcard that KX Supports??? Getting a different card may help but if any solutions are found... Please email me. Finally... In the Hardware Routing in Gigastudio.. what are the port numbers (1,2 2,3) etc. Switching ports gives different bars highlighted in the KX Sound port monitor. I was playing an MP3. When sound plays... These monitor bars go red...but when I play midi in Gigastudio, they turn green! I hope we can solve all these probs! There is a way. Good luck everybody!
