But it's very stange that system Vista+4GB RAM that dtr installed some months ago still works fine with 4 GB RAM - all works fine ! And MME/DX also ! (I visited dtr last saturday and see it myself). But when trying to install KX on any other fresh Vista install (dtr tried it on different PC configurations) - MME/DX doesn't work until removing one 2GB RAM module

Eugene, how do you think - why KX (MME/DX/ASIO) still works fine on Vista + 4GB RAM installed few months ago, but doesn't works (only ASIO works) when trying to install KX on fresh Vista install ? We tried to install Vista from exactly the same CD, from which it has been installed few months ago, and this system still works - but it doesn't work on any fresh install. Any ideas ?
This is a Wolrd Event my friend like in Diablo 2 on B.NET (when the UberDiablo dancing). It's happen 1 to 1 000 000 when the kx works fine on Vista +4GB RAM.
My friend have same situation, install vista ultimate 32bit with 4gb ram, install kx' and they works fine. Music just flow... But he is unaware (insensible) that he just experience a World Event then he go further and install vista 64bit (dont know kx not work on 64bit OS) and he back to vista 32bit (on the same computer, configuration etc.) but WE is gone, the chance is beyond for him. Maybe someone else experience this rare WE.

I'm too wait for kx on vista with 4gb ram my Eugene Master, it's not impossible to do this, trust me World Event exist !

Happy New Year and sorry for my English i'm from Poland.

In this new year i wish for all kx users working kx on vista with 4gb ram, i believe in you Eugene !

Yeah, seems that it's World Event, and this time nobody knows how to repeat this event again on fresh Vista install

Re: 3545 released (BETA) - revision 3545b

Hello,

I connected 1212m to yamaha 01v mixer over ADAT. Output from 1212m to yamaha works fine. However I don't seem to be getting ADAT inputs on 1212m in kx DSP.

I added peak meter on all prolog inputs (in0 - in13) and don't see any signal there. Yamaha seems to be sending according to its output peak meter.

How do I get ADAT inputs from 1212m in kx DSP?

EDIT:

I figured out part of this. ADAT 0/1 come in as AUX2, s/pdif on 0202 card comes in as line2 and analog in from 0202 comes in as AC97 2.

Now, I am still missing the remaining 6 ADAT inputs. How can I get them?

/EDIT

Here are some details about the card setup:

Re: 3545 released (BETA) - revision 3545b

Seems that I figured out how to get all 8 ADAT inputs on 1212m card.

These commands will set prolog 0-7 to adat inputs:

edspctrl $1 -defaults
kxctrl $1 -link 0400 f
kxctrl $1 -link 0401 0
kxctrl $1 -link 0402 1
kxctrl $1 -link 0403 2
kxctrl $1 -link 0404 3
kxctrl $1 -link 0405 4
kxctrl $1 -link 0406 5
kxctrl $1 -link 0407 6

This needs to be executed every time firmware is reloaded from eds control or computer is rebooted.

$1 is for the 2nd card, it needs to be changed (or removed) depending on your settings.

Regards,
Frank

Re: 3545 released (BETA) - revision 3545b

Hello. I have an Audigy 2 ZS. I've been using kx for 5 years. Thanks for the good work. Today i had to reinstall windows (vista sp1) and surprise... the card was not working any more, only noise. I have 4 gb of ram. When i had installed vista the first time , it had only 2 gb, after i've added 2gb more, everything was ok. I think during install, vista detects the amount of memory in the system, and sets some memory boundaries. That's why it was working in the past (when i had only 2 gb) and it's not working any more.

I wonder if you did an install with only 2 gig in there if the same thing would happen. First of all, start working again and second, continue working after adding the other 2 gig later on.

Re: 3545 released (BETA) - revision 3545b

I i wonder too. But now i'm too tired of those reinstalling. Yeasterday i gave a try to windows 7 but after finding out that it was working only in stereo, today i switched back to vista.
I see nothing why it wouldn't work if i install vista with just 2 gb of ram.

EDIT: i've tried to enable and disable Physical Address Extension (PAE), but no success.
The only thing that bothers me is that it was working with 4gb of ram before i've reinstalled the OS.

Re: 3545 released (BETA) - revision 3545b

What is the difference between the kX Project Audio Driver and Daniel K's modified drivers?

Also, I have 8GB of memory installed. Could I expect problems with the Kx drivers?

Daniel's drivers are based on the creative drivers, and kx is a completely rewrittten driver.

Re: 3545 released (BETA) - revision 3545b

Hi everybody
Nice to see KX still rocks. I have the same problem here. I recently bought Asus P6T motherboard with I7 920 and a 3x1Go ddr3 kingston kit @1066Mhz. I 'm under Vista Ultimate and KX does not work in Windows environment until I remove one 1Gb dim.
I hope this problem to be solved because I had to install crapy card to get sound in Windows.

SB0229 @ 3545 with Q6600/p35/3gb_ddr2 WinXP 32bit

can get ASIO only in 2 sync modes:

1. Map/Timer/Sleep (less CPU usage)
2. Map/Timer/Event (less latency possible)

but those ASIO Sync modes not compatable
with some host / standalone software like TruePianos , Reaper.fm ...
they making constant noise or could not even start asio!!

... waiting for 3546 x86

PS:

http://download.kxproject.lugosoft.c...3545b-full.exe
may slove some problems ...
