CT4832 ( shown 4830 in the hardware ) + empire ps-2120D
Hi all ^^
i'm new here and i just installed the fantastic kxproject for my outdated sblive 1024 OEM ( in the card it says model CT4380 but the driver shows CT4832 ... Oo ? ) i have the speakers empire ps-2120D ( a 2.1 system ) Empire Media - i instantly used the "use subwoofer output" and "bass redirection" but i have few mistakes to understand .. :| .. subwoofer range is 20Hz-160Hz and satellites are 160Hz-20KHz ... so ... why when i put bass redirection to 160Hz it sounds worst than normal ? :\ ... it cuts some frequencies |

Your 2.1 speakers likely use its own crossover to send the woofer the lows... you can tell if the speaker system has only one 2.5mm jack that connects to the sound card. edit: or using only 1 digital output connection from the sound card. /edit.
by setting kX to use subwoofer output - you are now sending low freqs to the SUB output - so the sub woofer must get its signal from that output of the card. But most 2.1 speaker systems only connect to the FRONT output, have their own crossover - and makes that setting in kX confusing for some people. Last edited by Maddogg6; Sep 19, 2008 at 06:44 PM. |

So the easy answer is - treat speaker system like 2.0 speakers as far as kX is concerned - use an EQ in kX to adjust low freq level. |
