TV Tuner and volume control
Hello and welcome to my topic, I hope someone will help me
![]() I bought myself a TV Tuner (WinFast TV2000 Expert) and it runs great except I cant control volume from the PVR2 (program that it runs on). I will start from my config: Audigy 2 + kX 3541, cable from TV tuner plugged into CD input on my Audigy. In kX mixer, it AC97 section, I select CD from the dropdown menu (otherwise it doesnt work at all), then I set level of AC97 in I/O section to max - soud works, its loud and clear but when I change volume level in the program nothing happens, I can even mute the sound it the program but it still plays on the same level. When I move the bar in program I can see the CD bar in windows master mixer moving ass well. Screen: [IMG=http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/5846/ac97kx7.th.jpg] And now the question: can I somehow link AC97 volume level with master? Or even better: can I use CD input (or AUX) without AC97? So the CD bar in windows master mixer (on the sreen) will affect the volume I can hear. In addition to this when I want to use microphone I must select it in AC97 section ass well so I must change it all the time from CD, to wath TV, to mic, to play CS or use Skype. What can I do about it? Hope to get answer. |

Re: TV Tuner and volume control
Your best bet is probably to do the following:
Download and register the latest ProFx plugin library (if you have not done so already). Also, download and register the LMVol plugin library. In kX DSP: Unload prolog and load ProFx:ADC and LineIn Volume plugin. Open the GUI for ProFX ADC: On left side of the GUI window, choose CD from the drop down boxes. One the right side of the GUI Window, enable the MIC slider, the UDA option, and the +20 dB MIC Boost option (if necessary). Connect the top 2 pins of ADC plugin to the LineIn Volume plugin, and then connect the LineIn Volume plugin to the In0/In1 pins of xrouting. Connect the bottom 2 pins of ADC to the RecL/RecR pins of epilog. Set your TV software to use the LineIn slider instead of CD. |

Re: TV Tuner and volume control
What sound card do you have? The above setup is only for cards that have the UDA codec (with such cards ProFX:ADC has 4 outputs and includes an option to enable UDA). If you do not have such a card, then you should skip the stuff about the right side of ADC's GUI window, and the stuff about the bottom 2 pins of ADC, and you will need to use a different config when you want to use the MIC.

Re: TV Tuner and volume control
With that card you can only use one AC97 input at a time (or a mix) so you will have to use 2 different configs (one for using the MIC, and one for using the TV card).
For the TV card, it is the same setup, but skip the stuff on the right side of ADC's GUI (nothing should be enabled on the right), and there is no need to connect anything to the REC pins of epilog (unless you want to record from the TV card). For the MIC, select MIC on the left side of ADC (nothing on the right side, except possibly the MIC boost option), and connect ADC's output only to the REC pins of epilog. Save each config, and load as necessary. Last edited by Russ; Sep 17, 2009 at 05:16 PM. Reason: typo |
