kX3545b Dose not support Windows 7 b6801 Yet!

A Way on 11 Flore seem to fix the problem ,Great!!!

I install the new windows 7 B6801 today and I found that the kX drivers doesn't compatible with the OS.

the setup prosess seem to be OK, but after restart ,the kx mixer fail to start, it's like the pictures below.

there still sound come out though, but it's not much of use when I cannot open the DSP.

it isn't officially supported on vista so why do you think it would be supported on 7 which hasn't been released yet?

Dude managed to get his hands on leaked version what else? I hate Vista for removing DirectSound :\ plus look at the task manager O_O (nasty nasty) good for newbies...

it will be very unlikely kX will be developed for Windows 7 until at least the RTM stage, as there are too mny changes with pre-release operating systems for one man to keep up with, in addition to support XP, Vista and OS X

but the windows 7 driver framework is the same as vista, and will stay the same till RTM, KX can run on Vista, so why not support Windows 7，I think it'll be very easy to fix this problem.

though the kx mixer cannot be loaded, I can set to FX2/3 in windows mixer to make it work. but only in stereo(I have a 5.1 set sound box).

i don't think there's much point coding for an unstable beta OS when it's almost certain to change frastically as it approaches RTM....

but the pre-beta is very stable already, and the driver arkitecture won't change due to the compliable reason, is the same as vista and will stay the same till RTM, I think it is very easy to fix this problem,just download the win7 and fix it out! as kx runs perfectly in Vista!

I managed to start kxmixer.exe under windows 7 build 6801. Not sure if the driver is working now, but at least kxmixer.exe is able to start. Now I will play with the settings and report later.

Here is how to make it work:

1. Create shortcut on the desktop pointing to kxmixer.exe,
then right click and "Troubleshoot compatibility" then <Begin>.

2. You will see "detecting problems" message after it you have to locate again kxmixer.exe in c:\program files\kx audio driver, then click <Next>

3. Select "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run now", then <Next>

4. Select "Windows Vista"

You should see kxmixer started now.

5. Select "Yes, save these settings for this program", then <Next> and "Close the troubleshooter"

6. You can right click your shortcut again -> Properties -> then under Target field add " --startup". The whole line should look like this

Code:

"C:\Program Files\kX Audio Driver\3545\kxmixer.exe" --startup

This is the way kxmixer.exe is started everytime at boot. With this option --startup.

That's it.

note: ufxsetup.39.exe gave me error while installing - "kx devices are not found" but still installed succesfully? i think.

PS: I can confirm I got sound now in Windows 7 using custom DSP setup with ProFX plugins. SRC, MX6 and K1lt.
Everything works!

PS2: This Windows rocks. Its new Big/Bug Fix for Vista.

PS3: I haven't restarted yet to see if kxmixer.exe will load automaticly or I have to run it from shortcut again.

I just completed several hours of raiding in World of Warcraft and I have to say that driver is working ok.

PS: BTW this Windows is faster than Windows 2008 for me. I got more FPS in WOW than in Windows 2008, which is faster than Vista.

PS2: ASIO doesn't seems to work.

Well, now when the new Traktor Pro is out I decided to give it a try.

Interesting that it does not work at all. It may be the windows or the driver.

well, I found out that the driver is not compliable with the system, cause it cracky sound came out after 10 minutes or so, the kx mixer still work ,but the sound distorted.and after some time, it's normal again, it's really weird . I try to change the default output in Windows mixer, it's normal imediatly, and switch back, it's ok, so ,it's weird.

first time i managed to run kxmixer i had some noises. like static. but now everything is ok. i mean.. for several hours playing wow everything was fine. strange how the sound fixed for me by itself.
