Preface: I've got my AC97 settings taken up by my microphone which I use for online gaming.
I plug my laptop's sound into my speakers via a Y adapter, this totally sucks though because it halves the sound of my front channels for both inputs and generally doesn't work the way I'd like it to. Instead, I'd like to do what I used to do for my Wii: run the sound into my computer, then let KX handle how it gets to my speakers, so there's no degrade in volume and both can run at the same time through the speakers. Unfortunately I did that using the AC97 settings set to LineIn instead of Mic. I don't want to have to switch that menu + unmute AC97 every time I wanna listen to music from my laptop through my PC and play games at the same time, and then have to switch back when I want to use my mic. I see that there is an "AC97 2" that can be unmuted but I can't figure out how the life of me to assign anything to it or find settings for it. Is it possible, and can someone tell me how to: 1.) Get LineIn to be played over my speakers while not effecting my ability to use the microphone for recording/gaming purposes? Am I just stupid for not being able to figure this out? Audigy 2 ZS here, XP. |

Re: a little help (linein + mic at the same time)
The Drop Down on AC97 Page will affect the AC97 output of Prolog... when you turn on the 'AC97 <> I2S Routing' switch on same page - it allows you to set the Individual sliders on the AC97 page to rout that audio into AC97-2 output of Prolog...
So - 1) AC97 page: Set drop down to Mic Turn on AC97 <> I2S Routing Switch UnMute and adjust level of the LINE IN 2) Record page: Adjust AC97 Recording level - this affects the MIC level for recording/VOIP Adjust AC97-2 recording level to MUTE/INF (so not to record the LINE IN audio) 3) Ins and Outs Page Adjust Ac97-2 level (Affects Line In Volume coming out of speakers) Adjust AC97 level to Mute - so you dont hear your own voice when using the MIC. This should do what you want - unless I misunderstood something, as this isnt very clear to me... Quote:
Optionally - updating ProFx and using ProFx:ADC in a custom DSP configuration is a little more obvious what is going on. |
