Multimedia Keyboard oddities

With Windows XP Pro SP2, KX version 5, 10, 00, 3539, Media Jukebox 8.0 and Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000:

I just rebuild this system with a new motherboard and reinstalled everything, but I couldn't find the original SoundBlaster drivers, and I'm now using KX. With the MS Keyboard software enabled, the only multimedia key that works is the pause/play button. With it disabled, and the KX "MM KB enabled" checked, that's the only button that does NOT work. Any ideas why, or about workarounds or whatever, would be greatly appreciated. THANKS.

Re: Multimedia Keyboard oddities

I have a cheapo Logitech Multimedia keyboard - there are *no* drivers for this keyboard - I configure some of the keys (Media - to launch say WinAmp; WWW - to launch a browser of my choice; EMail - to launch my choice of email client) in MS' TweakUI I (Explorer/Command Key section) got from Microsoft for free... the other keys (Mute, Play/Pause & Volume) are handled by kX.

Can you configure your keyboards software to ignore the keys kX would handle - so both (MS & kX) can be enabled?

Sorry - thats all I got.

Re: Multimedia Keyboard oddities

Thanks. No luck, though. Can't seem to run both at once, or get features from both working simultaneously. It's an either/or, not both. I don't find the MS itype program all that useful. The helpful thing would be kill it, and then be able to get the pause key working under the KX multimedia keyboard feature. Any programmer or add-in types out there that know how?

Re: Multimedia Keyboard oddities

This was a known issue in 3539. I suggest that you uninstall 3539 and install 3545b (and use your keyboard software's MM key support instead of kX's).
