Multimedia keyboard support
Hi,
I recently acquired a new multimedia keyboard called the Easy Scroll Silverline from Trust. Just like Creative, they produce fine hardware, it's just that the software that comes with it annoys the hell out of me ![]() It needs four running processes in the background (occupying about 12MB of ram) just to be able to intercept the non-standard multimedia keys Admittedly, it's very useful to have since it allows me to switch tracks in-game.The thing is, if I enable the 'multimedia keyboard' option in kX, I can use the volume control keys (vol up, vol down, mute/unmute) just fine without the need for the supplied driver. That's great but I would like to see this function expanded more It would be great if kX could 'intercept' the stop, play, next and previous keys also, systemwide (so it could be used in games). And perhaps even allow the user to change on which 'channel' the volume keys have effect to - Winamp volume control for example, instead of the general system volume (which I use a hardware mixer for). Is this feasible? Perhaps a bit too off-topic? I googled for about an hour to find a suitable app which works for me but all I found were a few abandoned generic multimedia keyboard drive projects or glitchy plugin's for Winamp which only worked if Winamp was the focused app. Defeats the purpose if you ask me. Thanks for listening. |

You use winamp ?
I got the Logitech Internet Navigator SE keyboard and like you, dont like the software that is bundled with it at all. So what did I do ? .. I installed the R-MX plugin for winamp and binded the play/pause, fwd, rwd etc. keys there. It works flawlessly for me ![]() Hope this helps you.

Question - where did you find this plugin?
Searching the winamp plugin library turns up nothing, Google doesn't either. Perhaps it's known under a different name? |
