Sound stops

hi everyone, this is my equipment

acer aspire 5630 with 2Gb RAM
EMU 1616m
kxdriver 3545b

i have a very annoying problem, if im listening to a youtube video, sometimes the sound dissapears, and i have to reiniciate the soundcard again. the same happens with winamp, ive noticed that it tends to happen more if i change the music, i mean, if i have a play list with more than one song, if i mannualy change from one to another, the system seems to get nuts and stops sounding. nevertheless, ive noticed that if i connect a mic or whatever external instrument in to the 1616m dock, that mic or instrument will function normally, so there is a problem with the internal managing of the sound (ASIO??)
any help?
