help with vista

new to the forum, so hi to everyone...

untill now i was using win xp and kx drivers, and would like to use kx drivers with vista.

i'm triing to find a solution how to install kx driver package on vista sp1. my sound card is recognize (by everest) as kX Control SB022xb 10k1 [d800]. my speakers are logitech x-530. tried to instal kx driver version 3545b, 3541, 3539 and 3538b. none of them seem to work. after install all i get is sound from the central speaker and subwoofer. kx mixer starts up, but when i change the settings they seem to have no affect...

i looked all over the net and can't find a solution. if anyone know how to install these drivers or can point me to a good tutorial i would be much obliged... (sry for bad english, only my third tounge)

Re: help with vista

I, on the other hand, am brand new to kx, but am really looking forward to getting involved but am not to sure which version to download, or how to install ( unless there's a well written read me, of course).

I run Vista home sp1 with an Audigy2zs. At this stage I only need it to listen to music while I rehabilitate from a work injury.

Oh, and for a bit of gaming as well

If you think I'm a bit to noobish for Kx let me know, and I'll wander off and check out that PAX stuff - anything rather than the absolute rubbish that Creative is currently providing as "support" for A2zs with Vista type users (like me)

Any help appreciated greatly!

PS Sorry for jumping into your thread @keyser_soze

Cheers

Re: help with vista

Broke my back, amonst other things, last November during a bit of what one could politely term a "diference of opinion" just outside of a place called Tarin Kowt. It's in Afghanistan.

4th trip there. Finaly ran out of luck. But it could have been worse

Cheers

Re: help with vista

I do not have Vista but...

If you are using Vista, you should probably use version 3545b.

If you have more than 2GB RAM, than you may (probably will) have problems with kX in Vista.

Make sure that Master Mixer is set as the default device, and that the speaker setup is set to 5.1 in the Windows Control Panel (and in kX's speaker setup). If you are only getting sound from Center/Sub, then it sounds like Wave 6/7 is set as the default.

Also, remember that kX Swaps Front and Rear by default.
