Vista 5.1 Sound cannot be adjusted

Hi All :-) I transferred now finally of XP to Vista and the Kx-drivers function, but I cannot set in Vista to 5.1 sound. In the characteristics of the master mixer and extended 8 Channel, 32bit, 48000Hz are adjusted. This attitude cannot be changed. That leads to problems into some games. How can I change that? usually the main output for me is Wave Out 6/7. still i can't change the channels.
