sb0100 win2k: Is my card broken?

Hello Folks,
I can't seem to get my sb0100 to install on anything but windows 98. Neither the creative drivers or the kx drivers work. The system crashes on booting and won't work again until I physically remove the card.
I do not have a sb02xx card but it seems like there is a similar curse on these sb0100 cards.
Just for the record I have tried 3528 to 3531 and three different computers and win98se and win2k. Is there something I've missed or could it be that my card was zapped or is otherwise broken?
