Current status

Hi guys!

Sorry for not posting any replies for so long - I was completely uninvolved in kX-related development for the last several months...

I'm not sure about my future plans, but I keep in mind the following features:

* 44.1kHz support for E-DSP cards (yes, I wish to play my CD collection without resampling on my 1212m card )
* Vista x64 support - I have the CPU and the OS, and I'm currently working on a different x64 driver, so, I will probably have some time to spend on kX for x64 -- but this will most likely break any compatibility with existing kX plugins... (welcome to 100% 64-bit world...)
* Mac OS X driver: except for the hibernation feature and recording, I have no other plans concerning it, since I'm not using Hackintosh regularly, and my macbookpro comes without a pc-card slot in order to keep working on the drivers for a2zsnotebook... If anybody wishes to work on the KX API for OS X (or a cross-platform API), please drop me a message.

Please note: if you have something urgent to tell me, use e-mail, not the forum or private messages.

Thanks

E.

Re: Current status

Hi Eugene (or Mr Garilov)

Thanks for the update. You are a good man! Making drivers and going the extra mile to make the experience very exciting!

I would like to say that you have been very productive releasing a mac version of your driver. It works very well.

I understand that you will tray and add 2 more final features for recording and power management. This is great.

However, will this include midi in & out?

The midi ports show up after edspctrl -reset so i guess your not too far away from getting that to work. I lent my friend my midi interface to plug the gap, so the sooner this is working the sooner it is back in my loving arms!

My friend also promised he would donate to the project if you get midi working!

Good old blackmail!

Anyway, had to get that off my chest!

Hope you are doing a good job now and all the best for your your future developments,

Re: Current status

Yep, great to hear about recording and sleep for mac version.

I'd be happy to contribute what I can to getting the API working.

i think fixing the 4GB RAM bug on 32-bit OS is MORE important than releasing a 64-bit version as most people are still using 32-bit OS

but most people using a 32bit OS have 2Gb or less, as Win32 won't read any more than 2.5-3Gb normally

what bug on 32-bit os? I'm using 32-bit os windows xp (pro, sp3) with 4gb ram, in system read only 3.5gb ram, but all working without any problem..
its not bug of kx drivers, its bug of 32-bit os..

p.s.
agree with more important support of 32-bit os by kx drivers..

This bug arises only on Vista 32-bit. On XP all works fine.

Wow did I read 64bit support? The only reason I'm sticking to 2GB ram and XP 32bit atm is kX drivers.

That has been available since 3541 (IIRC), but you have to edit the skin (i.e. each person has to edit the skin themselves to add new categories, etc).

Hi Eugene!

I discovered the OSX driver today and I'm so happy that my E-MU 1820 is working with OSX now.

Recording would be very cool.

Any chance to have 96khz sample rate for the E-DSPs?

Just want to add I very much appreciate your constant development of KX, probably the longest used piece of software I've ever used.

Hey!

I've just registered to say a BIG Thank You for everyone who made this driver possible.
You made my Live! 5.1 work in Vista perfectly.

And btw, the sound from the onboard realtek sucks.

THANK YOU!
