My microphone is working, but I am unable to record it

Hello,

My card is Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro (SB0360) with external I/O box (SB0290).

I was trying to make my microphone to work with this card. After some research I found the I am unable to select external LINE IN 1/MIC IN input through the ProFX:ADC plugin. Instead I have to use normal ProFX:SRC plugin to be able to select the external source. Using ProFX:SRC and selecting `Line2/Mic2 In` works! However I am unable to send that sound to WinMM Recording for some reason.

I made simple DSP that looks like:

ProFX:SRC (Line2/Mic2 In selected) -> goes to Chn1 of ProFX:MX6 (Record is enabled for Chn 1) -> RecL/RecR goes to WinMM Recording on k2lt.

MX6 indicates sound on Chn1. PeakX VU meter connected to RecL/RecR of MX6 indicates sound from microphone too. The sound does not go further. Skype is unable to pick it and Sound Forge is unable to see any sound.

The microphone is working because I can hear my own voice with full DSP.

In Windows Control panel I have selected "Recording Mixer" as my Recording Device". Also I have changed "Default format" to 2 channels, 16bit, 48000khz. (it was 44100 by default).

What I am doing wrong?

Right, ADC is for AC97 based inputs, SRC is for everything else.

As for the rest:
You are using Windows 2008 with more than 2GB RAM, right?
Are you able to record anything from kX using using WinMM?

Yes, 4GB ram. Strange. Same config worked with sb live 4830 with very similar DSP setup.

I did quick test and it seems that I cannot record anything.

Well your DSP config sounds OK, and assuming that you know how to configure Win2008 correctly for recording with kX, that seems to only leave the issue with having greater than 2GB RAM.

Re: My microphone is working, but I am unable to record it

After I have removed 2GB of RAM just to test if this is the problem, results are the same:
No recording

PS. Reset Global Settings and Reset Device Settings fixed everything

I am glad that you got it working.... Is that with the 4 GB or 2 GB?
