Upsampling plugin for Winamp3...?

I found a plugin for Winamp3...does this thing really work? Or maybe it isn't nessecery with kX ?

Well, the internal resamplers of the live (wich resample everything to 48kHz, because the 10kx'es only work on 48) aren't too great.
But, everything gets processed by those resamplers, also if the input itself is actually 48 kHz.
However, using a software solution to go from 44.1 to 48, and then live doing 48 to 48, is better then letting the live do 44.1 to 48.
On audigy, you can even use a b2b to get bit exact sound... (bypassing the resamplers alltogether... or actually, reversing the damage by the resamplers)
The cost however is some cpu cycles, to do the software resampling...

So, bottom line... Yes, it works... but, there are probably far better plugins then thisone...
I myself use a plugin using resampling code written by Naoki Shibata (http://shibatch.sourceforge.net/)... which is considered one of the best (at a cost of 20% of my cpu at the highest level though)
Together with the mad mp3 decoder plugin, this gives quite acceptable sound quality on mp3's... (but if I have a choice, I use flac to have no audioloss at all... or ogg for lossy)

I suggest you to use Winamp3.0d which has SSRC resampler already included.
If it doesn't have it, try Winamp 2.91 or foobar2000 which have it.

But, why not have a DSP-plugin for kX that does the same thing, instead of using Winamp plugins and such (that only work in winamp)...?
