are there any pro cards that give the same control as kx?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there are any pro-audio cards that come with drivers that give you as much control and features as kx. I really love to play with all the kx effects, but I don't think the creative audio hardware is the greatest quality.

No, there's not. (there were but not today) In this century - It's just not rational to combine the effects processor and the computer audio interface (= sound card). When one needs effects she buys an effects processor (or uses software effect processing), when one needs to get the sound in and out of computer she buys an interface.

p.s. There're Emu cards though (which are considered to be of relatively high quality).
(But to be honest their effects processor is more like rudiment, ~ human tail).

I believe that E-mu's offerings come pretty far in DSP control and everything.
On the other hand, if you need routing, Infrasonic Quartet offers flexible routing, but has no DSP effects at all.

AFAIK, no card has official driver to match all kX's features.

Only whit stereo source to 5.1 speakers and volumen control of 5 speaker make me happy.

Well, the audigy 2 zs notebook I use these days isn't too bad for quality (better noise floor than my old sblive value)...so I guess I'll just have to live with it!

soundscape mixtreme is.
fully customizable dsp-based mixer with support of dsp or native (vst) plugins.
old mixtremes are available pretty cheap but unfortunately only mixtreme 192 works with intel p35 chipsets or newer.
plus you need external dac/adc if you need anything else than s/pdif or tdif.

There is always the option of using external, better quality ADC's and DAC's with the kx drivers through SPDIF/i2s ins and outs.. You could get VERY good quality with this route.
