Analog Audio to receiver from Audigy 2 Card
Hello,
I've been using the Kx drivers for some time now but recently i decided to hook up my Harmon Kardon receiver to the PC. How do you set up Kx to process 5.1 audio to through 3.5mm cables in analog (6 channel setup) on an Audigy 2? I've never done this with Kx. I tried with the creative drivers and worked fine for a bit but there is some kind of bug in their set up for this where it keeps reseting the options and then it doesn't work properly. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Analog Audio to receiver from Audigy 2 Card
What OS are you using? With Windows XP, it should really just be a matter of connecting the cables and configuring Surrounder such that it works the way you want it to.

Re: Analog Audio to receiver from Audigy 2 Card
I'm on Vista 64. I do have the wires plug in but i get no sound. I tried to configure it and tried to test but i get a pop up that said it failed to process the sound.
What configurations should i be looking at? i might be doing something wrong.

Re: Analog Audio to receiver from Audigy 2 Card
IIRC, the speaker test does not work correctly with Vista at the moment, so do not test with that (just use music or whatever).
Set the "Toggle 'Swap Front and Rear' Mode" option on the Main page of kxmixer such that it matches how you have your receiver is connected (by default, front and rear are swapped, so you probably want to uncheck that option). Make sure that Master Mixer is set as the default device in the Windows Control Panel. There are still some bugs with Vista support, plus some new ones added with x64 support, so you may have to play around with it a little to get it working. I am using XP, so I am not familar with all the Vista and x64 issues... I suggest you read the bug reports thread(s), as well as the thread were 3546 was released to see what issues and workarounds are known, etc. Beyond the above, hopefullly some other Vista x64 users can help.... |
