3546 alpha x64 works in Windows7 x64 but...
I have just started using the x64 drivers with Windows7 x64 and it works so far but I need the KXMixer so I can prevent the sound from coming only out the centre speaker..

I've been using Windows 7 RC1 64bit build for a while now. You'll probably have to take a look at DSP routings etc a little as at least for me it wasn't properly set up but once you set it up correctly it works fine. |

Many thanks for that. For default audio device, which KXwave out one do you select?

I have no intension of trying to get the other devices to work at the moment though because I get slightly better sound quality in Windows 7 now than I do in Win XP why I prefer listening to music in Windows 7 now. This is more than I had hoped for, I thought sound was excellent as I had it configured in XP and now it's to my personal taste perfect.

Hmm, I am using the WaveOut 4/5 as well but only because this corresponds to the front stereo speakers. 2/3 is the centre speaker and 6/7 my rear speakers.
When I try the "Test" I get failed to create sound (ironically accompanied by the 'error' beep) but you say yours works OK. I did also think that sound was a little crisper and clearer. |

![]() And I agree the sound is crisper and cleaner in Windows 7 and also have better bass sound. Bass is more powerful and "softer" but somehow doesn't overhelm the other mid and high range either. I've not heard any better bass/treble balance than this basicly and I like having a lots of both so instrumental songs sounds crisp and great and vocals and trance songs have awesome deep bass (of course that's with tweaked EQ and Timbre plugin settings but there are very noticable differences at exactly same settings in both OS's). I game a lot and 3D positional sound is really important to me and that's why I've become so huge fan of kX drivers as even X-Fi cards cannot bring such accurate 3D positional sound as kX drivers and a Audigy card can. The only problem I've encountered so far in Windows 7 is F.E.A.R 2 3D positional sound is somewhat fucked up so that you don't hear sounds coming from straight forward. As if the "center" channel in kX driver (not real center speaker as I'm using headphones and not the 5.1 setup) is not properly working when using Wave 4/5. This is the only problem that might occure I think when using Wave 4/5 and a 5.1 setup as I think 4/5 is only meant for stereo sound (I could be wrong tho ), the center speaker might be muted in some apps/games or whatever as all other games I've tried I've had no problems with as far as sound goes.
