XP plays logon sound and than all sounds disappear

Hello

As I've written in the topic, since yesterday my Windows XP stops playing any sounds after logon. The first and last sound I hear is logon sound. I have no idea what's wrong, because yesterday I was playing music and watching movie. Nothing happened to the hardware and there wasn't any software malfunction.

I have SB Live! 5.1 and kX drivers. However I think it's rather software problem. My question to you is: is it possible to change some settings in kX Mixer to restore sounds? If anyone has any solution of my problem, please help.

Best regards

Just check your settings, you probably changed something without realizing it...

i.e.
Check the SWAP Font and Rear mode setting to make sure that is is set right for your speaker setup.
Check the Digital Output Only Mode switch (if your card has that option) to make sure it matches your speaker setup.
Check the slider volumes (Main page and Ins and Outs page) to be sure you did not accidentally mute something.
Check the DSP config (or reinitialize it) to see if you accidentally disabled/unloaded/disconnected any plugins.
Try resetting AC97.
Try resetting device settings.
Make sure kX Wave 0/1 is set as the default audio device in the Windows Control Panel.

Thanks for quick response. I'll check what you've pointed out and I'll drop you a line whether it helped or not. If all else fails I can always restore system but I'd like to avoid it.

As Russ wrote, I applied Reset Global Settings and Reset Device Settings from Settings menu and sounds are back. Thanks again for help.
