Simple question?

Because this is my first post since 2003, hello everybody!!!

Some where a long time ago... even before I lost my soul to the wrong women and finally even lost my beloved pc to that a##hole (sorry for my bad eniglisch, i'm dutch.), who broke in to my house... I loved the sound of my audigy with te kx drivers. And the dsp!!!

I'm intending to make a htpc and music pc again, but i dont know witch sound card i have to buy? I had a audigy 1 and i can remember, that there were some linitations with a sb live that days. And something tells me also with a audigy 1???

Could some one tell me, if its beter to buy/use a audigy 2 (now they are cheap) Or is there no diverence to a audigy 1??? Or what is the best 5.1 card anyway these days, to use with the kx drivers?

Thanx!!!

Re: Simple question?

i never had an audigy 1, but i would go for audigy2 any day. especially for audigy2zs since it's the best quality consumer grade card from creative before the x-fi series.

i can only give comparison to sblive. when i got sblive a long time ago, i was amazed how much clearer the sound was with it instread of the integrated audio chip.
then when i got audigy2 plat (not zs) i was again equally amazed by the superiority to sblive.

so audigy1 would be somewhere in the middle, but as you mentioned, audigy2 is very cheap these days, so it'd still go with that instead..
