Do you ever plan looking into Windows 7 support? Many people will be using Windows 7 in future, it will be like the next Win XP I have a feeling of seeing how many people already have preordered it (as many preorders in 1 week as Vista had in 17) and run RC1 - pre RTM builds like their primary OS. I see Windows 7 support more important than Vista when it gets released.

Just asking out of curiousity and if you have access to this OS or not, it's hard to develop for something you don't have.

I don't see how he *wouldn't* have it. The RC is still easily downloadable - legally.

Edit: Updated to 3547 on Vista SP1, DSP loading issues fixed! Yes! I don't have to re-do my config each restart

Thanks Eugene!

(Still can't use Master Mixer on my 10k1, surround worked with creative drivers )

Awesome, I'm enjoying the same!!
This version works perfect on my vista64! The only thing I have to setup is the buffer size. The default 8ms buffer size is full of clicks, while I change to 10ms, it works good!
Have you set Master Mixer as your default out device in the control panel?
I'm 10k2.

Yes, I had to raise both the buffer size and length a little to get rid of some crackling.

As far as the master device, Windows acts oddly with it. See attached.
It's a known bug with 10k1 devices on vista, afaik.

Regarding the 10k1/Master Mixer issue, has anyone ever made a bug report about that? I have seen it mentioned in other posts, but I do not recall seeing a bug report about it. It is possible that E. is not even aware of the issue.

Can anybody say if the ProFX Plug ins are working with this new driver release?

Thanks for the update Eugene, although, I went a bought a MOTU audio Interface to use, I'm still gonna try to find a use for my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, and I wont be using the Creative drivers.

The bundled versions should work, the newer (profx3.x) versions however not. I don't have x64 platform (yet). Sorry.

profx worked for me with xp64 fine. right now i'm on w7x64. the problem is still there with ADC or AC97 as it's called with the x64 version. i don't know why but the gui is completely black and only some red db indicators are visible. basically you can't control anything. i was still able to blindly push various buttons but it's a pain in the ass.

also, same problem with w7 and 4gb ram. whenever there's supposed to be a sound only a bunch of static comes out. i'm on official creative drivers right now.

Those got to be the bundled (very old) ones.
Not Profx3.x which I released here;

Thanks for the report LeMury, very nice to see you here.

I really need the newer ADC and AC97 ProFX Plug ins to work because my model of A2ZS has the mic noise issue, so I'll have to keep checking in here, in hope that you will release your ProFX plug ins for the kX x64 driver.

I'm in no rush. I have a UltraLite mk3, a Onyx Satelitte, and an Delta 1010LT to record with, but none of those audio interfaces or their software has the flexibility as good as kX routing capability.

Man if my UltraLite had the routing flexibility as the kX DSP, I'll be up there matching the RME FireFace 800! Which is the next audio interface I'll get, if I can save up the money!

Anyway, it's very good to see you Lex, and great to see that Eugene is making it possible for owners of the older Creative soundcards to use the newer versions of Windows. It really is very kind, considerate, and touching to behold. I'm also glad to see Max M. still around and still helping forum members.

God bless the kX community!

EDIT:

I don't want to forget to mention DJ_Stick. Russ, and Madddogg, also great supporters of kX. each in his on way!

I wonder what audio interfaces others are using now-a-days. I'm still with SONAR. Using SONAR 8.3.1. now. I still come here to read what's going on, and I always will, when I can.

Cya all round.

Sincerely, Thomas

Re: x64 driver(Vista x64 and Windows XP x64) - beta - 3547

Tested under Vista64 SP2:

- SB0060 (Sound Blaster Live! 5.1): No sound (only noise)
- SB0220 (Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital): No sound
Both cards with emu10k1.

Some questions:
-How to change the buffer size?
-And length?
(Where are these options?)
-What values to try?

Do you have more than 2GB of RAM? kX does not currently support more than 2GB RAM with WinMM/DSound.

Try ASIO playback if possible, since it does not suffer from the same issue with RAM.

As for the buffer size, you can find that on the kX context menu: Settings -> Setup Buffers. Someone else will have to tell you which buffers to change (probably the playback buffer size), and what settings to try (I have never had to change those settings (with WinXP)).
