Running several EMU cards simultaneous
hi
![]() i have two emu (1820 model ) , kx reconize them well , it's working. there is only matters with the eDSP control who seems can't separate control between cards. for example , switching +4db / -10db for inputs affect the two cards at same time. and the "reload DSP" affect only the first intalled card. (the only way to setup cards separatly is to desactivate on of them and reboot to setup , then reactivate and reboot again ) i'm not a programmer , and i don't know about programmation , but maybe i can help to , posting reports or other ... Eugene, is that interessting you ? or is it too minor improvement ? I remain at your disposal. Cheers SKL |

Re: Running several EMU cards simultaneous
I do not have any EMU cards, but:
The "$" parameter should select which card to control in edspctrl. i.e. (usage) edspctrl $<card number> ... With kX DSP (and the other kX applets), click in the box at the bottom right (where it shows the card name) to select which card to configure. |

Re : Running several EMU cards simultaneous
Hi Russ ,
In the DSP and others the box to select the desired card is working well, but about the edspctrl , it result a strange behavior (for any card selected, always the same description about the DOCK ID or HANA number ) and if i "reload firmware" whatever card selected it's always the same card that is refreshed... can you explain to me how to use the "$" parameter ? cause i don't know nothing about the KX and command lines (but i know well kx through GUI) thx

Re: Running several EMU cards simultaneous
The "$" parameter should be the first parameter.
Card numbering starts with zero. i.e. "edspctrl $0 -defaults" would set defaults for the first card. "edspctrl $1 -defaults" would set defaults for the second card. BTW: kxctrl (kX Console) works the same way: i.e. "kxctrl $0 --gui" would open kX Console for the first card. "kxctrl $1 --gui" would open kX Console for the second card. Items selected from the kX Menu, usually apply to the currently selected card only (i.e. if you open kX Console from the menu, it will be for the currently selected card.) Re : Running several EMU cards simultaneous
hum, all that you said is working , but it's always the same mistake ONLY for control of the "reload firmware" and in/out sensitivity ( wich are specific's EMUcards controls )
my two cards are named ec880 and ec00 , ec880 in pci 4 and ec00 in pci 2 , even if ec00 is selected as active soundcard , the refreshed card ( by reload firmware ) is always the ec880 , and selecting sensitivity dont make differences between card, it switch it for the 2 at same time ( it's impossible to have input 1 ec00 set as +4dbu and input 1 ec880 at -10dbv but the two at +4 or -10 is ok )) sorry for my english ... and thx for your help

Re: Running several EMU cards simultaneous
Sorry, I am not sure what you are talking about... Is that stuff on some EMU specific page of kX Mixer? The only edspctrl that I know of is the command line utility (again I do not have any EMU cards).
It is possible that it is a bug... It would be good if someone else with multiple EMU cards could respond/verify, etc. Does "reloading firmware" not work with esdspctrl.exe (for each card)? i.e. "-fpga" should reload the firmware for the FPGA "-dock" should reload the firmware for the dock "-reset" should reload the firmware for both of the above |

Re : Running several EMU cards simultaneous
yes, with emu cards ther is a specific page , appears below "console KX" by right clic on the kx systray icon, that's named "E-DSP Control" and provide additionnal controls http://pics.imagup.com/04/1248405004...right clic.png ( appears 2 times since i've put the second card, but it the same ) http://uploads.imagup.com/10/1248405039_edsp panel.png
for the kx console, i'm not an informed user ... i don't know any command lines ... and how to use it properly. reloading firmware is working but alway for the 1st card, whatever the second card appears to be selected Last edited by diabLe; Jul 23, 2009 at 07:25 PM. Reason: links |

Re: Running several EMU cards simultaneous
OK, I see... It is probably a bug then... You should post a bug report about it in the Bug Reports thread for whichever version of kX you are using.

Re : AW: Running several EMU cards simultaneous
you need to reload firmware : right clic on kx systray > E-DSP control and click the button : reload firmware, if it don't work, quit kx mixer , and reload it
