Select SPDIF/AC3 output or Master Mixer?

Hi, everyone. I am new here.

I am using kx 3548 x86 in windows server 2008 with sb 4620 sound card and 2.1 speaker.
I am not sure which one should choose as my default playback device.
SPDIF/AC3 output or Master Mixer?

I've read some posts here and know that:

Quote:
1. With SPDIF/AC3 as default both stereo and 6-channel go to FxBus 0/1
2. With Master Mixer, stereo goes to FxBus 2/3 and 6-channel to FxBus 2/3/4/5/6/7.
3. With Wave 2/3 as default, all audio goes to FxBus 2/3 (including all 6 channels of multichannel file)
4. With Wave 4/5 as default, same as over on FxBus 4/5
5. With Wave 6/7 as default, stereo sound goes to FxBus 6/7, multichannel sound does not show up on FxBus 0-15)
So SPDIF/AC3 got only 2-channel and Master Mixer got 8-channel
The issue is when I use SPDIF/AC3 output and play ac3 media file/movie with kmplayer, the ac3 decode icon shows up at the taskbar.
But when use Master Mixer, it doesn't.(but can hear sound). but powerdvd works fine(shows up).

which one should I use? and does the ac3 decode icon mean the kx ac3 works or not?

anyone got idea?
thanks so much.

plus:
I download an ac3 testing demo to test front left/front right/surround left/surround right/center/LFE.
when use mater mixer, I can't hear sound from surround right.
when use SPDIF/AC3 output, all works fine.

I am so confused...
