??? FXBus quantity

Hi,

the new drivers do not allow to send the Wave/ Asio signal in kXRouter to others than the first 15 channels, FXBus 0-15.

Since these are system reserved busses, as far as I understood, you don't have enough free connections to do some routing.

I tried to change busses within the first 15 to free up 2 busses for an Asio connection, but it didn't work in the new driver release 3549.

workaround:
I've installed version 3541 and I'm able to route to all 63 FXbusse. (Is that really all posssible fxbusses...?)

that way I'm able to route

Asio kX Out 0 - fxbus20
Asio kX Out 1 - fxbus21

and listen to Asio sound via kXAsio again!

Is there a way to make the fxbusses available through konsole in the new releases? It would be great to use Features like "Smart Connections turn off".

kind regards

KJ

Re: FXBus quantity

24 bit support needs more than 1 bus for each stream, so there are less free busses available. In any case you should not have to free up busses for ASIO, because in most scenarios you would not be using the wave driver and ASIO driver at the same time.

Re: FXBus quantity

Hi Russ,

thanks for the post.
do have an idea, where ASIO Sound is gone when updating from 3541 to 3549?
When selecting kXAsio, I don't get any sound. I've searched all fxbusses for a signal... .
I tried Asio4all and kX_v3541 and get sound.

Re: FXBus quantity

What OS are you using?
Did you uninstall the previous version of kX before installing the new version?

Re: FXBus quantity

winXP pro SP2

yes, I've uninstalled the previous version before installing the update.

First I thought, the reason for not getting sound is that I use two cards, but even after removing one card from the system, I still don't get ASIO sound.

Until now, only switching back to version 3541 and changing ASIO bus 1 & 2 to fxbus 20/21 results in ASIO output.

nevermind

version 3541 is fine for me.

I will test this someday again... .

Thanks for your readiness to help me!

I will think about hosting a "versiontracker" for kXdrivers, when EG agrees.

Re: FXBus quantity

I have not tried 3549, but ASIO works fine for me in 3548 (and 3545b, etc) with the default routing in kX Router (SB0090 - Windows XP SP2).

Are you loading an old DSP config or are you testing with the default DSP config? Newer versions of kX use FxBusX instead of FxBus (and a new version of epilog) with 10k2 models, so older configs may not be compatible.

BTW: I also have 2 cards installed (SB0090 and SB0228).

Re: FXBus quantity

I've got it , but don't have a solution...

I have installed Version 3550:

I always start from scratch after installing an update.

I clear the DSP completely and then, my basic setup is:

- ProFX "src" for input (set to fxbus 0/1)
- Basis "FXMix" as mixer and vol adjustment
and
- ProFX "k2lt" for output routing

that's all.

Now, there is NO sound on ASIO.

When I use FXBusX instead of "src" I get ASIO sound on fxbus 0/1.

Thanks for your answers RUSS!

Dear developers, please make "src" usable again 100%!

Re: FXBus quantity

AFAIK, the bundled version of ProFX is still the old version and does not support the 24 bit stuff. Install the latest version of ProFX (see here) and you should be good to go...
