Center channel from stereo source

Hi!

I have a source that is 2 channels (stereo) that I want to play on 3 channels (left, center, right). I don't want to create a mix of left+right to make a mono center channel. I really want to have sound dedicated to the center channel when it's supposed to be in the center of the sound stage.

It might be very simple. I need some guidance on which plug-in to use and routing it. Or maybe it's not possible with the standard plug-ins in the DSP and need to be programmed.

For now, everything is working great with the KX drivers but want to try something different with my setup.

Thx

Re: Center channel from stereo source

This appears to be similar to http://www.hardwareheaven.com/effects-...ml#post1296876 and is a existing issue on Vista(sometimes) and 7. May not be it, but worth looking in to.

Re: Center channel from stereo source

If the source is 2 channels then there is no dedicated centre channel. You have to create it. You could try a surround plug-in like prologica for example or mix the channels and EQ whatever you want to hear from the centre channel. Otherwise, you're somewhat limited since the source is only stereo.

Re: Center channel from stereo source

Actually, I'm trying to replicate a signal processor like Gavotte from Fosgate or ESP-3 from Audio Control for the center channel.

There is a good document explaining all this here: Install a Center Channel
The part of interest in this article is the "Signal Processors".

I'll look into the surrounder and prologica. I'm using Xp so not a issue for me...

Thx
