EMU10k1 chipset card. Problem with Win7 x64.
I had my integrated sound card fried, so I had to buy a new one:
Model:CL-FM801-S2C Chipset: Creative EMU10k1 X - DBQ (there's also "SB0220" on the right side so it's Sound Blaster's Live! chipset) The drivers that came with a CD won't work - it seems like they install and ask for reboot but system still recognizes my sound card as: "Multimedia Audio Controller" "PCI Input Device" When I try to install the kX drivers it says that it didn't recognize any compatible devices. The Manual installation through "Update Driver Software" doesn't work either since it still says that "Windows could not find driver software for your device" even when I point it to the right folder (It won't let me point it directly to the file). Any ideas how to make it work ? I don't want 5.1 nor anything like that, I just want to listen to the music on my headphones. |

I'm sorry, but this card doesn't use EMU10k1 chipset and isn't kX Compatible. Moreover, there are no Windows 7 compatible drivers released.
This card used to be distributed as Dell OEM SB Live! (but not SB022x, that's another one), and driver it uses under ALSA is named snd-emu10k1x. It's kind of similar to Audigy SE and Live 24-bit.

Damn. I've tried almost every driver I could find related to the topic. Is there anything else I can do to make it work ? I tried ALSA snd-enmu10k1x but it seems to be connected with Linux users.

Get Ubuntu Live CD and enjoy your music with Linux.

Re: EMU10k1 chipset card. Problem with Win7 x64.
I know that this is kind of old, BUT this may be the solution
I've tried this driver http://rapidshare.com/files/21062449...0_Driver_2.rar I have lost drivers - FixYa and it works (I have SB0200, a card that uses the same emu chip) NOTES: -Digital output doesn't work with 5.1, that's why I ended up here, searching a solution. -5.1 anlog output hasn't been tested by my... sorry -2.0 headphone anolog output: WORKS! -TESTED on Win 7 if it helps, be happy. Cheers from Argentina (A.K.A. excuse my poor english )
