Why Line In and Mic Inputs are on the same Kx port?!

I have this problem:

kX DSP windows says that my Creative Audigy is: SB0231 10k2 [dc00]. Prolog has the following:

AC97
CD SPDIF
I2S / SPDIF C
Coaxial / Optical
Line2/Mic2
AC97 In 2
Aux 2

all these are stereo. Why kX doesn't recognize my Mic and Line In as separate inputs???

Why I cannot rout my microphone (plugged in Mic) and my guitar (plugged in Line In) direct to ASIO channels as separate signals???

Seems I have a little success when I activate AC97 <-> I2S Routing mode but what does it means?!

I just want kX to recognize my Mic and Line In inputs as separate channels! I even have no success performing the tutorial routings for the kX Project's web site and Links there...

My Mic and Line In are just in one channel... could somebody explain me why is that?

That is the nature of AC97, you can only use one AC97 input at a time or a mix.

However, with your card, you should be able to use the AC97 <-> I2S Routing to get around that (easiest method is to use ProFX:ADC).

Yep, your card offers 4 seperate analog mono inputs (=2 seperate analog stereo inputs);

2 on AC97 codec (Mic and Line or whatever selectable)
2 on 2e Codec aka "UDA"

Search/Look for ProFx 'ADC' plugin picture here;
ProFx Version 3.x
The one with 2 peak meters build in.

Download latest version here;

Thank you guys!

I read that IS2 is the right way. AC97 is just one at a time selectable input.
Thank you very much. Now lets see what will happen...

With ProFx ADC you can select AC97 Left/Right Recording Inputs seperate.
Additionaly, on your card with ADC, you can route ac97 mixer output to the second codec UDA giving a total of 4 analog input signals;
