KX Driver preventing win7 from sleeping when idle??

Running below command results in:

C:\Users\skarab>powercfg -requests
DISPLAY:
None.

SYSTEM:
[DRIVER] kX 10k1 Audio (3550) - Generic (PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0002&SUBSYS_80271102&REV_08\4&30 d54f48&0&08F0)
An audio stream is currently in use.

AWAYMODE:
None.

Apparently it means kX driver is keeping machine alive? My PC definitely does not sleep after specified idle time.

Also no audio apps /players or ANYTHING audio related running?

Ideas?

PS. Thanks to kX project for even getting my old SB Live Value running in win7x64

I have verified the same problem with my Win7 x64 and soundblaster live also.

I tested by uninstalling KXDriver and problem went away. Did you find a fix?
Thanks

same problem with win7 x86

I even tried making all my default audio devices non kx devices - still have an audio stream "in use"

kX Mixer uses kX MIDI interface for controlling the driver, this MIDI interface is always active. Windows won't allow your PC to sleep unless you unload kX Mixer.

There's no workaround at the moment. Sorry.

Re : KX Driver preventing win7 from sleeping when idle??

I do have a workaround that works for me (and hopefully for everyone). I just overridden the kX requests using powercfg.exe

First, open a command prompt as Administrator (Windows menu, type 'cmd' in search box, right click on the result and open as Administrator).
On this console, type:
Code:
powercfg /requests
This will list all things that prevent to go to sleep mode.
Look at the line about kX driver (in [DRIVER] section).
Note the driver name: for me, it is kX 10k2 Audio (3550) - Generic
(the PCI\blabla... between braces does not count)

Now override this with:
Code:
powercfg /requestsoverride DRIVER "kX 10k2 Audio (3550) - Generic" SYSTEM
If done properly, your computer will be able to go to sleep mode again
Just test it with low values (2 minutes for hard drives, 3 minutes for display, and 5 minutes for system). Providing you do not have other drivers or process that prevent sleeping, your computer should sleep before 6 minutes of idle time (Windows always take some time to set up its sleep mode, about 20s).

Re : KX Driver preventing win7 from sleeping when idle??

It is remembered. The only downside I know is that your computer might go to sleep when it is playing a song. But there are plenty ways to prevent it from going to sleep when a media player is in use, while I don't see any other workaround to make it sleep at all.
