win7 x86/ableton live 8 latency

hello!

i know, this problem was discussed very much here, i read forum and tried several things already, but want more.

i have athlon 64x2 5000+/4gb/SB0102 10k1 [e800]/kx3550/win7 x86. mainly work with vst, so no disk streaming involved.

now my asio latency in ableton is 21.33 and i occasionally hear some pops if cpu is loaded more than 50% and i start scrolling the screen. what can i do to make it lower?

what i already did, after reading the forum:
1. set priorities to background services
2. set asio optimization in kx for smp/ht
3. set sync to krnl/smp
4. tried pci latency tool with no noticeable effect and uninstalled it

all this made it possible to lower latency by half, but i want more

any suggestions?
