Looking to create 4 pairs of stereo output - kX/which card?
HI,
New to the forum here. I currently have a professional PCI recording card sending stereo audio to 4 sets of outputs. I run 4 applications, which allow me to select which pair to send output to. I would like to replace this functionality with a less expensive sound card, and have read kX drivers can make this possible. I purchased a new soundcard a few months ago, but kX drivers would not install (unsupported card). Here are my questions: 1) Can this really be done? 2) I am looking at an Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE card. Will this work? 3) If not, can someone recommend a current card that I can purchase for this (from Amazon, Buy, Newegg, etc?) Thank You! |

The SE won't work..... here is a list of supported cards.... kX Project: Knowledgebase: kX Soundblaster Compatibility List
You are probably looking for a card like the Audigy2 ZS to do what you want..... 7.1 output. You will have to find one on the used market and I hear they are reasonably priced right now. If any of them will do exactly what you are doing with the other card, I don't know, as I've never pushed this many outputs.... Yet!
