Does Kx work with USB microphones?

I've searched a while but came up empty handed so I figure just ask. This is a built-in mic on a Logitech Webcam C500, so not for serious recording, but would be nice to use.

Somehow the driver for the mic device will never become active. After installing the driver, the device is listed as disabled. When I manually enable it it says to reboot and I do. At that point it then reports that no driver is installed. And so on in an endless loop.

Not looking for support fror Logitech, but I'm no expert and could see that maybe only the real hardware interface on my Live card will work as a mic with these drivers.

WinXP Sp3 x86 with the 3550 Kx driver

KX won't work with a USB mic
