Problem with getting 5.1 Sound Working
Hello everyone,
I have had these KX drivers working 100% before, I just cannot seem to figure out what is wrong atm. I have a 5.1 system connected to the soundcard. When I select 5.1 mode in surrounder, Only the fromt 2 speakers are operational. In fact, any setting at all sends the audio through the front 2 speakers only. The only exception is '2.1' mode, this mode actually uses my subwoofer. I have tried manually connecting front channels to rear channels in the dsp, and that did work. I'm running the latest KX Drivers with Vista, on an Audigy 2 ZS Any help is greatly appreciated Dan |

Did you also check your settings in windows control panel/advanced speaker settings (or what ever they call it in vista) That needs to be set at 5.1 as well.

Re: Problem with getting 5.1 Sound Working
Hi,
The only option I have in control panel is 'Sound' and this contains all the playback and recording devices. I have selected 'Master Mixer' as the default playback device, but the 'Configure' button is grayed out - this is the button you press to select what kind of speaker setup you have. I presume this is grayed out because the KX Mixer program overrides any settings in here? I'm not 100% on that. Is there some manual way to set the speaker config? ie registry editing? Could this be the problem? Thanks |

I don't have vista, but it was a shot....
See if there is a fix in this thread. Problems getting 5.1 content working. Also, you say it was working 100% and now it's not. Have you tried a global reset from KX menu? If you were running stock settings it will get you back to that.

I have tried the reset, but to no avail. I wil go through that thread you posted to see if that solves it.
