Is there a way i can set whether to bypass an effect or not via MIDI, without adding additional effects?

Re: Can i control bypass with MIDI?
With kX automation, It is pretty much what you see is what you get, so if you do not see it...
The buttons at the bottom of the plugin GUI (reset, bypass, mute, etc) are added automatically (sort of) by kX (without any automation controls), so unless the plugin author implements it themselves, those options are not available to kX automation. Also, bypass really does not make sense with some plugins (e.g. plugins with more inputs than outputs, etc). Last edited by Russ; Jun 13, 2010 at 11:36 PM. |

Re: Can i control bypass with MIDI?
I understand the resource limitations with 10k1 cards...
Most people just save/load different custom configs as needed, rather than building one monster config and enabling/disabling/bypassing, each plugin, etc. If you post a screenshot of your config, maybe someone can suggest some optimizations or alternatives... i.e. (just examples as I have no idea what your config looks like) Maybe you do not need certain plugins that you currently have loaded (e.g. xrouting? surrounder?)? Maybe you do not need all of the features of epilog, and could use kxlt instead? If you can get rid of the plugins that you do not need, that should free up some resources for other stuff (e.g. maybe some stereo mix plugins (or similar), that you could use to implement some kind of bypass scheme that will work with kX automation), etc. Depending on how your effects are being used (e.g. if the effects are chained together), maybe a plugin like FxRouter would be useful. |
