No Sound - Win 7 x64 - SB Live 5.1 Digital
Hi I've spent a few hours on the forums, docs and KB looking for a solution but haven't managed to get anything to work yet.
I'm running a SB Live 5.1 (SB0102) on Windows 7 64 bit, Q6600, Ati 3470, 3gb ram. I'm using a set of Creative Soundworks DTT3500 speakers which use the orange digital output on the card to a mini din on the speakers. When I set the KX Drivers to 'digital output only' my speakers indicate there is a signal since the LED stops flashing. Only I can't hear any sound through the speakers. The speakers are confirmed working by my 360 over optical. I have the playback device set to SPDif/AC3 output and have tried the master mixer devices too. I'm not looking to do any sound recording or anything like that. I use the PC as a media center so I'm looking to output 5.1 for films from a mixture of 2.0 and 5.1 sources. Any advice or help would be gratefully recieved. Cheers Eddy |

Re: No Sound - Win 7 x64 - SB Live 5.1 Digital
is the level in windows going up and down?
if you are sure there is no output of any kind (try a headphone or something else) i would check the routing on kx, you can add a level plugin in the DSP and connect it to input and see if the driver is getting the signal from any of the channel, if it is, I would reconnect it to the output and see if the routing is correct, sometimes the original routing is wrong or missing in certain setup, if so you just need to reconnect them after determining the channel by trial and error. so far this card is working great for me in w7x64, i hope it doesn't give you too much headache in sorting out the bugs. |
