windows xp sp1 - no sound
Hi,
what version of kX drivers is the most recommended for xp sp1? I tried installing the newest, but it results in no sound at all. Before installing I had sound from default M$ drivers, after installing kX there's nothing. After uninstalling (and using driversweeper just in case) the sound got back. I tried installing again and it resulted in no sound same as before. I guess it is because I use xp without sp2/sp3, am I right? I see that kX used to support older windows systems, but it doesn't anymore, so I guess it's probable. Anyawy, which relase is the newest that still supports xp sp1? Cause trying relases one by one sounds like a loooong way to go... and I am NOT going to install any newer service packs and loose PAE and efficiency of my PC overall. Cheers |

Re: windows xp sp1 - no sound
With XP I used to use 3545b for a long time and it worked great. It was sometimes with 3546 that 64bit showed up etc.

Re: windows xp sp1 - no sound
did you use it on sp1 or newer version of XP?
I'm also wondering if the driver has problems with PAE kernel. I use it because I have 4GB of ram and legal 32-bit copy of windows xp sp1 and not feel like buying 64bit windows 7 nor stealing it, and I want to use all the memory that I have both for musical purposes, and games as well and with sp2 and later PAE doesn't work anymore.edit: I tried the relase you suggested. It doen't work either there is no sound at all.

Re: windows xp sp1 - no sound
Before you over-complicate the issue of no sound, did you catch the fact that KX uses the rear output as default?
