Connecting 2 SB Cards with Audigy II

HoWdY!! I was wondering if those orange outputs on these cards allow you to interconnect 3 sound cards.
Are they used for Digital output for midi?
What would be the benefit of using these rather than the black output (rear) to the next card's LineIn ??
Could someone explain how this works please?
I've got the three cards working now using the Audio LineIns and the Rear outs.
Just trying to reduce the "note fallouts" of the cards when using midi string tracks or organ tracks or whatever.
