Microphone setup on Audigy 2 ZS

Hi,

I'm using a Creative Audigy 2 ZS on Windows 7 64 bits with the Kx drivers latest version (3550 I think). I did many searches about microphone issues but even following the steps I couldn't make it work for recording. I just downloaded the Kx driver installer and ran it, I don't know if there are more things to install. I found a page for mic setup (http://kb.kxproject.lugosoft.com/guide/setup-mic.html) but it's down.

I use a 3,5mm microphone in Mic In and I can hear myself. My options are:
In AC97 Page : Microphone, Analogic gain unmuted, Mic In unmuted, no Mic boost.
Ins and Outs page: AC97 unmuted (so I can hear myself, the mic is fine).

In windows' control panel, at Sound I have two options for recording devices: "Recording Mixer" and "Wave In HQ". Which one should I use?

Skype don't recognize any microphone device.

Can anyone help me to make the mic work? Detailed steps please.

Besides the ins and outs page and AC97 page there is a recording page, there is a slider there for AC97 for recording.

The kX main page is here....... Official kX Project Site -- News But that particular page seems to be gone...... Several others as well.

the digitalvillages.wikispaces.com/ page comes up, but it only links to the 404'ed file.. not sure why it comes up in google
