Optical (Toslink) output

Hello,

Are there any cards supporting optical/toslink output from back panel? Having an external module on front panel and wiring a toslink from there is a bit ugly, don't you think?

So, I ask if there are any cards, which would have toslink output next to the analog outputs?

There was an add on card/daughter board output adapter with SPDIF (coax) and TOSLINK I believe...... Never had one though. I think it hooked up to the 40 pin connector either at the card or some of the drive bays had a second 40 pin pass through connector for this.

See if anything shows up on eBay.

Yeah, that addon module has toslink, but as you said it's installed in the front panel of the computer. Having a wire coming out from the front panel isn't really useful IMO. The module goes by name Creative Digital I/O Module. Example

No, the unit I'm thinking of was on a card bracket attached to the back of the computer. What your link shows is a drive bay
