MIDI crackles after a while, then wave sounds start cracklng too

Hi, friends

I have absolutely unexpected problem w/ kx drivers (latest version installed & SB0400 present, 8mb creative soundfonts installed). MP3 plays flawlessly for hours, but if I play any MIDI file, the sound remains clear for 5-6 seconds and then I hear crackling and hissing; if I play MP3 after that, its sound is distorted as well. Reboot fixes MP3 playback.

The strange part is that everyting was fine till I restored my system from the image (kind od fresh start after moving to a different apartment) with fresh windows installed all the kx settings saved and worked nicely, so technically NOTHING has changed. I'm now able to use ASIO and play guitar through Guitar Rig etc., but once I try to use the MIDI engine (say, start Sibelius and open & play a file), it corrupts everything. Looks like the clue is just around the corner, but I can't find it.

Please save my life

I searched the forum, and I read the thread that was very similar, but I neither played with cpu optimizing utilities nor have MIDI ran through an effect module in DSP setup

Addition: I tried all the old drivers from 3538 to the current one, the same things happen

Solution found: the soundfonts became defective or not compatible, I have no idea why. Loaded the simplest and smallest bank (I don't care much od the MIDI quality at this point), everything worked. Let's call it the solution

Finally, the card was found defective. Later it showed the same problems (even with the new sf bank), was replaced with Audigy 2 ZS, which worked perfectly.

After reading the first post I was gonna say about the same (or similar) problem. Two years ago or so cracks of midi sounds was a real pain. Also I have tried everything and the one cure has been replacing the card.
So you have found a solution before my posting
